Norfed Liberty Dollars find

I was looking over ebay at the prices that the liberty dollars were selling for and couldn't believe it. I was pretty sure I had at least a few of them stashed away somewhere so I went digging. How excited was I to find that I have 80 of them. Not only that but they are the 2006 series issued for NY. There are only a couple of these on Ebay and they are selling for $30 to $50 each. I purchased these as generic rounds last year. What a score! I'm thinking I should list these asap while there is stil some hype around them Or do you think they may be worth more if I hold onto them? Thoughts?

If the FBI ever returns those confiscated rounds, the price is gonna head south faster than a Quebecer in December.

You're all over it! I just sold 10 of the regular copper $1 Liberty Dollars for $100; I bought them for $9! :D

Boy, I wish I could forget that I had 80 of anything laying around!

I'm still trying to figure out where I put 300-400 rounds about 15-20 years ago.

I do keep finding coins that I forgot I bought all the time.

But those rounds only cost me about $2-$3 ea. I can't remember.

This will give my Grandchildren something to hunt for. By the way, number 5 Grandchild came into the world on the 20th of last month.

That makes Grand kid's from 15 years old to 2 weeks old. Grand kid's are GREAT!

Should've had 'em FIRST!

Maranatha,

So do you think I'm better off selling these now or waiting to see if there value goes up even more?

I'd sell 'em now. Find similar ebay auctions, find the ones that are doing the best in terms of bids, and emulate their listing. For the coppers that I sold, I mentioned in the listing that the LD offices had been raided, and that there may not be any more Liberty Dollars as a result. I don't know to what degree it helped my sales, but I'm sure it didn't hurt!

Sell those rounds now!!!!!! I sold on eBay 10 1999, 7 2006, and 6 2006 half ounce rounds for $22 an ounce. How much more do you want to make?

Sell them now before the world realizes how many of them there are.

Hey, Ho:

How was Thanksgiving? Did the killer parrot squawk relief when the other bird went into the oven?

To answer your question, several. Here is a link showing the majority of varieties. There are even errors!

This does not include the Ron Paul dollars, Stop the War dollars or "handcuff" dollars.

ROTF - We didn't show him the turkey before it was cooked - I do not show the birds (we have more than the parrot) whole eggs either - just in case they put two and two together. ("They're eating the babies!)

And our Thanksgiving was excellent (of the three holidays at this time of year - that is my favorite) and we made our annual Chestnut-Sausage stuffing which I created from one King Henry 8th had I had found when living in England as a kid - and kept as a secret till a few years back - now I have people all over the world making it!

I sincerely hope yours was as wonderful as mine!

That is funny Ho. Eating babies, how could you in front of your birds? No, shame, man, no shame. You crack me up.

We had a great Thanksgiving. My little girl, 4 now, spent most of the day sniffing two marshmallows. She would not eat them, just sniff them. she even hid them under her table cloth so no one would take them. That is what I remember most, her sniffing marshmallows. Funny stuff kids do.

Kids and animals - very similar when they are young.......we gave the parrot something (we are trying to remember what it was now) and, instead of eating it, as usual - he carried it for hours and licked it........we were cracking up!

Could go up, could go down...no one can predict the future. But right now, you're sitting on a HUGE profit. I vote for selling into the hype.

Another alternative - sell 20%, or 50%, or whatever...lock in some of that profit now & let few ride if you think it'll go higher.

Nice score! :applause_

Its funny that Von NOt Haus' loss is his LD associates gain. Ironic seeing as how it was a MLM thing and the lowest level is usually in a losing position.

I would sell all but ten of them. That way you got your profit, and if they do skyrocket, you still have some dry powder.:applause_

Looks like the hype is dying down. The 20 dollar Libertys are now only going for the low 20s on ebay. They were in the high 30s to low 40s last week.

Bought a roll today for 40 cents back. They will end up as sterling casting grain.

Re: Norfed Liberty Dollars find

Gonna alloy them tomorrow. Sterling grain goes for 30% over.
